I’m delighted to say that my brand new Shamwell Tale, Spun! is now available in ebook and paperback everywhere:
An ill-advised encounter at the office party leaves David Greenlake jobless and homeless in one heady weekend. But he quickly begs work from his ex-boss and takes a room in Shamwell with easy-going postman Rory Deamer. David doesn’t mean to flirt with the recently divorced Rory—just like he doesn’t consciously decide to breathe. After all, Rory’s far too nice for him. And far too straight.
Rory finds his new lodger surprisingly fun to be with, and what’s more, David is a hit with Rory’s troubled children. But while Rory’s world may have turned upside down in the last few years, there’s one thing he’s sure of: he’s straight as a die. So he can’t be falling for David . . . can he?
Their friends and family think they know all the answers, and David’s office party hook-up has his own plans for romance. Rory and David need to make up their minds and take a stand for what they really want–or their love could be over before it’s even begun.
Today’s snippet is taken from the about-to-be-released Shamwell Tales #4, Spun!, which is due out on 3rd July (but should be available to download from the Riptide website early – either today or tomorrow, I think).
Here, our (possibly slightly inebriated) hero David is enjoying himself a little too much at a party given by his (soon-to-be-ex) employer:
David found himself seized and kissed to within an inch of his sanity. After that, matters soon came to, well, a head, and David was on his knees, willingly sucking down Xav’s sizeable manhood.
Then the curtains, which had at some point closed behind them, were flung open. There was a shrill cry of “Xavier!” followed by a hand which clapped David’s shoulder with bruising force and yanked him away from his task.
Oops. David twisted and came face-to-face with his employer, who was visibly quivering with ire.

When love wars with principle, which one will win?
Mark Nugent has spent his life in the closet—at least, the small portion of it he hasn’t spent in the office. Determined to make amends to his neglected teenage daughter from a failed marriage, Mark swears off work—and love—so he can give her a stable home environment. But Mark’s resolve to keep his heart under wraps is tested when he meets an out and proud young man he’s instantly drawn to.
Patrick Owen is a charity worker with strong principles. He doesn’t trust easily, but he’s blown away by his attraction for the older man who’s so new to his own sexuality. Yet Mark is adamant he’s not coming out to his daughter—and Patrick refuses to live a lie.
What with Mark’s old-fashioned attitudes and his flirtatious ex-colleague who’s determined to come between them, Patrick begins to wonder if they’ll ever be on the same page. And when Mark’s career as a tax advisor clashes with Patrick’s social conscience, sparks really start to fly—in all the wrong ways.
Note: this book was previously published by Samhain Publishing. The second edition contains only minor revisions.
Apologies for being missing in action for a couple of weeks!
Today’s snippet is taken from the newly re-released Out!, the third of my Shamwell Tales, which is out today from Riptide Publishing (and will be on sale at all other vendors from Monday).
Our heroes, cover boy Mark and Patrick, have been caught short during a three-legged charity pub crawl:
There was no one else in there as they stood side by side at the urinals and unzipped. Patrick cast a glance over towards Mark’s face and nearly cracked up at the way he was resolutely staring dead ahead at the plain white tiles on the wall. “You can look if you want,” he said. “I won’t tell anyone.”
Mark’s face went as red as his shirt. “I wasn’t looking!”
“I know you weren’t. That’s why I’m telling you, you can.” Patrick grinned as Mark’s gaze darted over for about a millisecond, then nailed itself back to the wall.

I’m delighted to say that Played!, my romantic comedy set in the world of amateur dramatics and the second of my Shamwell Tales, is out today in second edition – rather appropriately timed, too, as we approach midsummer:

All the world’s a stage . . . but life doesn’t come with a script.
Posh boy Tristan Goldsmith has one last summer of freedom before he joins the family firm in New York—no more farting around on stage, as his father puts it. But the classically trained actor can’t resist when the Shamwell Amateur Dramatics Society begs him to take a leading role in their production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. As an added incentive, he’ll be giving private acting lessons to a gorgeous local handyman who’s been curiously resistant to Tristan’s advances.
As a late-diagnosed dyslexic still struggling with literacy, Con Izzard’s never dared to act before. With arrogant yet charming Tristan helping him with his lines, he finally has his chance to shine. But Con’s determined not to start a romance with a man he’s convinced only wants a casual fling.
Tristan’s never been one to back down from a challenge, especially when he realises his attraction to the tall, muscular handyman isn’t just physical. Just as he thinks he’s finally won Con’s heart—and given his own in return—disaster strikes with a slip of the tongue that shatters Con’s trust and sends him running for cover. This show may be over before the curtain’s even opened.
Placed third in the 2015 Rainbow Awards: Gay Romantic Comedy
Note: this book was previously published by Samhain Publishing. Like all of the Shamwell Tales #1 – #3, it’s been re-edited for the Riptide edition but contains only minor revisions.
Shamwell #3, Out! will be, ahem, out on June 26th, and the brand new Shamwell #4, Spun! on July 3rd. 🙂

Bow ties are cool . . . but secrets, not so much
Shamwell Tales, Book 1
Behind Robert Emeny’s cheerfully eccentric exterior lies a young heart battered and bruised by his past. He’s taken a job in a village primary school to make a fresh start, and love isn’t part of his plans. But then he’s knocked for six—literally—by a chance encounter with the uncle of two of his pupils.
Sean Grant works in pest control, lives on a council estate, and rides a motorbike. Robert is an ex–public schoolboy from a posh family who drives a classic car. On the face of it, they shouldn’t have anything in common. Yet Robert can’t resist Sean’s roguish grin, and passion sparks between them even after an excruciatingly embarrassing first date.
Too bad the past Robert’s hiding from is about to come looking for him. His increasingly ludicrous efforts to keep his secrets are pushing Sean away—but telling the truth could make Sean leave him for good.
Finalist in the romance category of the 2015 Bisexual Book Awards.
Finalist: 2014 Rainbow Awards category Gay Romantic Comedy
Note: this book was previously published by Samhain Publishing. The second edition contains only minor revisions.
Books #2 and #3, Played! and Out!, will also be re-released during June, in preparation for the release of a brand new Shamwell Tale, Spun! on 3rd July.
This mini-anthology featuring 2 short stories by me and one by the very talented Josephine Myles is free to download for this weekend only. Enjoy! 😀

Good men come in threes!
Three’s definitely not a crowd in this trio of contemporary erotic male/male/male ménages with a very British flavour from gay romance favourites Josephine Myles and JL Merrow.
Let your fantasies run wild as you take in the fit bodies down at the gym, or enjoy a very special birthday present from a loving partner. And even a trip to the dentist can be enjoyable with the right sort of distraction!
These stories have all been previously published, but are now available exclusively in this anthology. For details of individual stories, see here.
Available exclusively on Kindle
I’m beyond chuffed that Lovers Leap has been named as a finalist in the romance category of the Bi Book Awards for books of 2016.
Lovers Leap is a little bit special to me, as it’s set in the place I grew up in–the Isle of Wight. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve walked along the pier in the opening scene. Thankfully, unlike Michael, I’ve never (yet!) enraged a companion to the point of shoving me off the end of it! 😉

If they looked, would they ever leap?
Good-looking, confident, and doted on by his widowed mum, Michael is used to thinking only of himself. Getting shoved off an Isle of Wight pier by an exasperated ex ought to come as a wake-up call—but then he meets Rufus and he’s right back to letting the little head take charge. Rufus is cute, keen, and gets under Michael’s skin in a disturbing way.
Would-be chef Rufus can’t believe his luck when a dripping wet dream of a man walks out of the sea on his birthday, especially when Michael ends up staying at the family B&B. Life is perfect—at least until Michael has to go home to the mainland.
Rufus can’t leave the island for reasons he’s entirely neglected to mention. And though Michael identifies as bi, breaking his mum’s heart by coming out and having an actual relationship with a guy has never been his plan. With both men determined to keep their secrets, a leap of faith could land them in deep water.
