Cover Reveal – Slam!

My award-winning romantic comedy set in Cheltenham, Slam! has a gorgeous new cover by the multi-talented Garret Leigh:

Limericks, lies and puppy-dog eyes

Amateur poet Jude is a carnivore working in a vegan cafe. His little dog, Bubbles, is the only man in the Anglo-Japanese graduate’s life—but Jude yearns from afar for “Karate Crumpet”, a man who runs past the cafe window every Saturday night leading a martial arts class. Jude’s swept off his feet when he’s rescued from muggers by the object of his affections—and when Jude finds out the calm, competent, hunk of muscle is also gay, he’s in seventh heaven.

Trouble is, the universe seems to be conspiring to stop them getting together. While Jude’s ready to jump straight into bed with his saviour, David’s still got one foot in the closet and wants to take things slowly. Then there’s Jude’s best friend, who has a dangerous secret, and his mother, who’s desperately trying to keep her own love life on track by lying about her age—meaning Jude has to pretend to be a schoolboy!

With a maze of different stories to keep straight, a potential stepfather to keep happy, and ex boyfriends who keep turning up on dates, Jude’s getting increasingly confused. Poetry in motion, it’s not!

Due to be re-released on Amazon & on Kindle Unlimited on 11th April 2017

Yep, you read that date right. I’ve decided to step up the re-release of some of my old Samhain titles under my Sea Singer imprint, and you can see the new proposed schedule here. It’s…kind of speedy, but heh, those books have had enough of a holiday. Time for them to get back out there! 😉

I hope to soon be able to share the fabulous new covers for my Shamwell Tales, the first 3 of which Riptide Publishing plan to re-release in time for the debut of #4 in the series, Spun!. 😀

About jlmerrow

JL Merrow is that rare beast, an English person who refuses to drink tea. She read Natural Sciences at Cambridge, where she learned many things, chief amongst which was that she never wanted to see the inside of a lab ever again. Her one regret is that she never mastered the ability of punting one-handed whilst holding a glass of champagne. She writes across genres, with a preference for contemporary gay romance and the paranormal, and is frequently accused of humour. Find JL Merrow online at: www.jlmerrow.com

  1. Nice cover! This is one of my favorites—so many funny moments. Will there be any updates to the story (not that it needs any), or simply republishing with a fresh cover?

    • jlmerrow says:

Thanks! This one is almost identical to the Samhain edition – I’ve been through the books I’m self-pubbing and tweaked anything that seemed particularly dated, and corrected any typos I found, but it’s only the odd word or two. 🙂

  2. Molly says:

Terrific! This is one of the few I don’t already own–I’ll look forward to it.

Is there any chance of a Kobo release as well? Here in Canada it’s the more common platform and I’ve bought your other books there. I would of course completely understand if getting into other platforms takes longer.

    • jlmerrow says:

Thanks! And I didn’t know that about Kobo in Canada – as a keen Kobo user myself, I approve! 🙂 Which makes me feel even worse about making people wait for non-Kindle formats, but unfortunately to get books onto Kindle Unlimited they need to be exclusive to Amazon. It’ll only be for 3 months, though – after that I’ll release it more widely.

      • Molly says:

That makes sense! No worries at all–they’re well worth the wait, and it’s a good excuse to reread the Plumber’s Mate books (my absolute faves).
